Hello, I'm Arina Bacigalupo.
Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I spent my childhood between St. Petersburg, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, and Canada. Growing up across different cultures shaped the way I see the world and sparked my love for creativity, art, and human expression.
I have always loved art, but for a long time, I never really explored it as a direction for myself. When I was 21, I decided to give it a chance, and quickly realized how much I enjoyed drawing and painting. Since then, art has become an important part of my life, and I've continued to explore different subjects, techniques, and mediums.
My journey eventually led me to study graphic design at Pratt Institute, NYC, followed by Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), where I received a scholarship. While I'm grateful for the education and experiences those schools gave me, I eventually decided to step away from a traditional academic path and continue exploring art on my own. I wanted the freedom to experiment, follow my curiosity, and develop my work naturally without feeling limited to one particular style or medium.
My work is inspired by symbolism, emotion, nature, and the human experience. I enjoy experimenting with different forms of media and allowing each piece to develop in its own way. Some of my work is playful and observational, while other pieces are more personal.
One of my ongoing collections focuses on endangered and threatened animals. Through these works, I hope to bring attention to extraordinary species while exploring themes of fragility, survival, beauty, and our connection to the natural world.
Alongside my work as an artist, I'm also an actress, which has been another important part of my creative life. If you'd like to learn more about my acting work, you can follow the link here www.arinabacigalupo.com
